Ed Presnall
Ed is the author of Component TrainingTM for TDX, Mastering Variable Surface Tracking: The Component TrainingTM Approach and 8 other books, creator of the Component TrainingTM method, founder of Camp Pawmark, The Ultimate Tracking ExperienceTM, and tracking judge for all levels.
He is an International authority on training dogs and handlers in the sport of tracking. As a member of the Dog Writers Association of America (DWAA), Ed has been nominated ten times and twice has been awarded the prestigious Maxwell Award for his published works.
He has authored multiple award-winning books and hundreds of short stories, articles and columns for a variety of dog related publications. Ed's canine-related articles on tracking, dog sports, breeding, ethics and specific breed related topics have been published in many dog related magazines including the American Kennel Club Gazette and American Kennel Club Family Dog, National and Regional Club magazines, newsletters and web sites as well as privately published magazines, newsletters and web sites.

Recognized by many as being one of the most innovative trainers in the sport, Ed creates solutions to training problems. He and his dogs have earned over 50 tracking titles, on 10 different breeds of dogs, including 12 TDX, 5 VST and 3 CT titles while training dozens of other breeds and their handlers to attain advanced titles.
One of his accomplishments as a exhibitor is, at three different tracking tests, to have earned two TD titles, two TDX titles and two VST titles all on different breeds of dogs.
Ed has trained over 5,000 dogs in tracking, through his series of international seminars, workshops and tracking camps. Having worked with over 140 different breeds of dogs, he brings a refreshing motivational outlook on dog training to this sport.
When not judging or teaching tracking, he lives in Kerrville, TX with his dogs.
